“There is no better time than now, this very Christmas season, for all of us to rededicate ourselves to the principles taught by Jesus the Christ.”
—President Thomas S Monson
these past few weeks my thoughts have been so scattered. i feel like i have a bajillion things to do. and no time to do them. but then some days i get a lot done, while other i feel like i accomplish nothing. i have felt so lazy and not even wanting to go shopping for christmas {which i finally finished yesterday, yay!}i feel like i hadn't been focusing on the true meaning and importance of christmas. then on monday night i was over at my bffe's house and had a little fhe with her family. her mom taught a wonderful lesson on the savior. it was just what i needed. we watched a video on Christs birth. how humble joesph and mary were. how perfect his life was. how he came to earth to be crucified and resurrected. so as we are on this earth we can have the atonement. how perfect his plan is. it is beautiful.as we think about the wise men who brought him gifts. how they sacrificed so they could travel far distances to see the babe, laying in a manger. in a stable, because there was no room for him at the inn. are we making room for him in our 'inn'? in our lives. are we including the savior? we we being wise men. and still seeking him? i thank her family for having me over that night. i was supposed to be there remembering these things. taking a step back from my life, to re-focus on what really matters. his birth. his life. his death. his Resurrection. what gift can i give the lord this year? my time. my obedience. i love to reflect on my many blessings. i am such a lucky girl. to have a savior who loves me. and helps me.knowing i can pray to him anytime, and he is listening. we are all lucky. the savior is standing on the other side of the door if we just open it and let him into our hearts and lives.
as president uchtdorf said,
"God does not need us to love Him. But oh, how we need to love God! "
may we turn our thoughts to him this Christmas season and remember how blessed we are. i hope you all have a wonderful Christmas.

thank you for sharing this ashley. i think we all need to have a reminder of why we celebrate christmas. that its not about the gifts or the materiel things that its about the birth of our savior and his life. he has done so much for us and like you said all we need to do is open the door and let him into our lives. thank you so much again for sharing your thought and testimony i personally really needed that!! =)
Beautiful post! Thanks for the reminder of what christmas is really about!! i often too get so caught up in gifts and the santa fun stuff, which is great, but Jesus' life is the real meaning!
