this past easter sunday was a very relaxed sunday. great church meetings. nap time. family time. treat time. and most of all reflecting on the life of my savior.

i am so eternally grateful for the great sacrifice that he made for each of us
so that i can live with him some day.

faith

"If we have faith in Jesus Christ, the hardest as well as the easiest times in life can be a blessing. In all conditions, we can choose the right with the guidance of the Spirit. We have the gospel of Jesus Christ to shape and guide our lives if we choose it. And with prophets revealing to us our place in the plan of salvation, we can live with perfect hope and a feeling of peace. We never need to feel that we are alone or unloved in the Lord’s service, because we never are. We can feel the love of God. The Savior has promised angels on our left and our right, to bear us up. And He always keeps His word."
—President Henry B. Eyring,

sicky

as i write this i am laying on my couch.
i got a terrible cold this weekend.
i think i have used more Kleenex's this weekend alone,
then i have in the past six months.

my nose is stuffy.
i can't breathe
i am coughing my little lungs out.
being sicky is no fun.

but i decided to make the best out of it.
i'm going to read a good book.
watch my favorite movies.
write in my journal.
read the book of mormon.
and listen to the fireside i missed yesterday.

boy am i glad i did.
it was just what i needed.
made me so happy.
you should watch it too!

"it is day by day that we work out our plans for the future."

"its one day at a time that we work out our imperfections"

"out of small things that proceeding which is great!"

i love the little things that make us have a whole different outlook on life, and our day :) this message brightened my not so good sick day. to a wonderful day.

also i never posted the second recipe.
i made it up, so i will just explain in my best "recipe form" how to do it..

MOCK BBQ CHICKEN PIZZA

  • chicken
  • tortillas
  • bbq sauce
  • cheese
  • green peppers
  • tomatoes
  • basil
clean and cube your chicken. cook on stove top. i put a little of bbq to taste. then place your tortillas on a sheet and put them in the oven {325} for about 1.5 min, flip them to the other side for 1.5 min. take out of oven. spread bbq sauce {to your liking} on each of the tortillas. sprinkle chicken, cheese, veggies, a little bbq sauce and basil. then bake for about 5 minutes or until cheese is melted and tortillas is crisp to your liking.

{sorry that was terrible directions but i just kind of made this yummy recipe up!}

it took about 20-30 minutes from preparation time to eating! i loaded mine with veggies and made it low cal so it was under
300 calories!

{sorry they're blurry, thank you cell phone!}
i know that i did not give amounts of the food.
but just depending on how many you are making i would just eye it! i used about 6 oz of chicken to make three. and about 2 tablespoons of bbq sauce on each one! Just make it how you like it :)

happy monday everyone!!

becoming.

''Even when we make mistakes, we hope others will love us in spite of our shortcomings - even if we dont deserve it.
Oh, it is wonderful to know that our Heavenly Father loves us - even with all our flaws! His love is such that even should we give up on ourselves, He never will. We see ourselves in terms of yesterday and today. Our Heavenly Father sees us in terms of forever. Although we might settle for less, Heavenly Father wont, for He sees us as the glorious beings we are capable of becoming.''

reflection.

“There is no better time than now, this very Christmas season, for all of us to rededicate ourselves to the principles taught by Jesus the Christ.”
—President Thomas S Monson

these past few weeks my thoughts have been so scattered. i feel like i have a bajillion things to do. and no time to do them. but then some days i get a lot done, while other i feel like i accomplish nothing. i have felt so lazy and not even wanting to go shopping for christmas {which i finally finished yesterday, yay!}i feel like i hadn't been focusing on the true meaning and importance of christmas. then on monday night i was over at my bffe's house and had a little fhe with her family. her mom taught a wonderful lesson on the savior. it was just what i needed. we watched a video on Christs birth. how humble joesph and mary were. how perfect his life was. how he came to earth to be crucified and resurrected. so as we are on this earth we can have the atonement. how perfect his plan is. it is beautiful.as we think about the wise men who brought him gifts. how they sacrificed so they could travel far distances to see the babe, laying in a manger. in a stable, because there was no room for him at the inn. are we making room for him in our 'inn'? in our lives. are we including the savior? we we being wise men. and still seeking him? i thank her family for having me over that night. i was supposed to be there remembering these things. taking a step back from my life, to re-focus on what really matters. his birth. his life. his death. his Resurrection. what gift can i give the lord this year? my time. my obedience. i love to reflect on my many blessings. i am such a lucky girl. to have a savior who loves me. and helps me.knowing i can pray to him anytime, and he is listening. we are all lucky. the savior is standing on the other side of the door if we just open it and let him into our hearts and lives.

as president uchtdorf said,

"God does not need us to love HimBut oh, how we need to love God! "

may we turn our thoughts to him this Christmas season and remember how blessed we are. i hope you all have a wonderful Christmas.

creation

Under the direction of the Father, Jesus Christ created the earth as a place for us to live
and gain experience. In order to progress and become like God, each of us had to obtain
a body and be tested during a time of probation on the earth. While on the earth we are
out of God’s physical presence. We do not remember our pre-earth life.
"we must walk by
faith rather than by sight.
"
-preach my gospel.

Dave and I had the wonderful opportunity to teach FHE {family home evening} at mesa vista.I remember going there to do sacrament meeting & FHE growing up. We taught to them about the creation. we sang songs. laughed. talked. and sang more songs. The spirit was so strong and it was awesome to hear their testimonies of the creation. We are so blessed with such a beautiful world to live in! So blessed.

Patience

Patience

I was reading in Preach my Gospel tonight.
Such a wonderful book.
these words really touched me.
So i must share.

Patience is the capacity to endure delay,
trouble, opposition, or suffering without
becoming angry, frustrated, or anxious. It is
the ability to do God’s will and accept His
timing. When you are patient, you hold up
under pressure and are able to face adversity
calmly and hopefully. Patience is related to
hope and faith—you must wait for the Lord’s
promised blessings to be fulfilled.
You need patience in your everyday
experiences and relationships, especially with
your companion. You must be patient with all
people, yourself included, as you work to
overcome faults and weaknesses.

“Life is full of difficulties, some
minor and others of a more
serious nature. There seems to
be an unending supply of
challenges for one and all. Our
problem is that we often expect
instantaneous solutions to such
challenges, forgetting that
frequently the heavenly virtue of
patience is required.”

– PRESIDENT THOMAS S. MONSON
“PATIENCE—A HEAVENLY VIRTUE,” ENSIGN, NOV. 1995, 59

The past while my patience has been tested. and its is something i defiantly have had to learn. I am so grateful for the constant reminders of family and friends that things just take time.Something about quotes, especially quotes from the Prophet just get to me.
Love love love.
