the marvelous wonderettes

the sis, the mom & i like to go to plays on occasion. even though in the picture i don't look to happy, i promise you i was ha! i just wasn't ready for the pic. just a few blocks from my house is a small theater called the hale centre theater. i remember going there as a little girl. it always amazed me what they can do with such small space with a center stage. this play was super cute. it is set in the late 1950's and include these songs. i love oldies songs. every saturday growing up my dad would blast his old school music.

some of my favorites in the play included:

and of course...

do you have any favorite old school songs!?

artsy.

a few weeks back i had to write a paper analyzing a piece of art work so my mama and i headed down to the byu art museum. we had a wonderful time looking at the different exhibits. i love doing simple activities like this. they had an awesome quilt exhibit going on that mama bev just loved. my favorite piece was the display of books they had. it was so cool! {it is the first one pictured} i thought it was so creative and just awesome. i never realized how much i heart art until this year. it just makes me happy.

41 years

Happy 41st anniversary to my parents!!! I love them so so much. Aren't they so dang cute? I made them do a little photo shoot with me this afternoon. We snapped a few. I even got my dad to smile :) I am so happy that they are my parents. I am so blessed!

I love that my dad still opens the door for my mom, takes her on a dinner date once a week, and I love hearing them laugh. It's so cute. They are pretty cool and I couldn't image life with out them. Thanks for your love and support through everything Mom and Dad. You mean the world to me.
I'm so glad I'm your baby girl.

the redwoods were HUGE!!!! the pictures don't do them justice. and they were so so so amazing. i cannot get over how large they were. it was an awesome to drive through them. we then drove into san fran just before dinner time. it was so cool driving across the bridge! i had never been to northern cali before so it was fun to visit. we walked around the different piers and i watched some break dancers. they were pretty legit! i wanted to jump in and start dancing with them! i was exhausted from all the driving and walking and fell right to sleep especially knowing that the next day would be a full day of touristy adventures in the big city!

ps isn't the cat with the life jacket HILARIOUS?!

lots of driving this day. it took a lot longer since we drove down the coast through the smaller roads. but the scenery was stunning! oh so beautiful. so lush and green. the ocean was fantastic. it was really overcast that you couldn't even see a lot of the light houses. after a while we cut on over and got on the freeway. else it would have taken us days to drive all the way down.
i love the ocean.
