My childhood friend DaNielle and I are exactly 10 days apart. Since we've grown up and moved out of our neighborhood we have always made it priority to at least see each other during our birthday month! It's always so hard to get together because of schedules. With that being said, this year we celebrated with a bang. Kenny is both of our favorite country singers so we thought what a better way to celebrate our birthdays than getting wooed by his amazing voice! Even though we've both seen Kenny Chesney live several times it was probably my favorite concert of his. Both of our voices were pretty much gone by the end of the night singing along. He is so amazing live & it was a great time had by all. Happy birthday to us & thanks Kenny for making this year a memorable one. Love you Nil!  

Turning 25.

 

  Another year has flown by! On July 17th I turned the big 2-5. I really can't believe I'm already 25. I still feel like I'm 18.. I guess that's a good thing though, right? The night before my birthday my parents took me to a nice dinner. It's always a fun tradition we have had. The day of my birthday just felt like another day. Everyone always used to tell me on their birthday "oh, it's just another day" and as each year passes I start to see what they mean but I have always been a huge birthday person and I am determined to always make it a special day! I worked majority of the day and my co-workers made it extra special! When I got to work they had my desk all decked out, took me to lunch & we just had a fun day at work. I left a little early went shopping, got a massage, and as tradition goes I got my makeup done & bought a new eye shadow palette! That night I went out with my roommates & neighbors. Afterward we went back and watched my favorite F.R.I.E.N.D.S! I always have to watch the birthday episode. Thanks to everyone for their sweet phone calls, texts, IG shout outs, emails, snapchats, singing. facebook messages & those I got to spend the day with (and those who I've gotten to celebrate with after!) I feel so blessed and thankful for those in my life. This day did not disappoint. I think I'll always love birthdays!! I am excited to see what this year has in store for me :)

I'll never forget the time we crashed on a tandem bike, our first deep conversation in n74, the time we stopped to see what the landmark was, the time we went on a picnic, the time we listened to the neighbors through the wall with cups, the time we went ice skating, the first time we met, my many trips to Logan to visit you, our many target adventures,the many late night conversations on one of our beds, the many times one of us was going through a hard time and we were always there for each other, the time we played in the Noyes building with Dan, Easter egg hunts with Ky Ky, our dinner and movie dates, laughing so hard that we both start crying. I'll never forget the first time I saw you cry (yes you were like Cameron Diaz on the holiday;)), or the time we went camping with Brady, sleepovers in the family room, or the many times we send picture messages asking "guess what I'm doing?", or the time that Al gore got mad and that's when scary pig face is funny. I'll never forget when we got lost when we were going hiking, going on an adventure to wales, or being nerds and blogging together.

I love that we get each other. I love that you hate when I tell you "BTI" I love that you love the office, Weezer and The Beatles. I love how hilarious you are when it's least expected. I love that you're a white. I love that you are so strong. You follow your heart. You go after your dreams. You never give up. Thanks for being such a wonderful example in my life.And I love that you're as sweet as they come. But most of all I love that you're one of my best friends.

pizza & birthdays

Emilee and I have been the best of friends ever since I was born. 

She has the most contagious laugh, is hilarious, and I love that we grew up together. We did everything together as far back as I can remember. We had twinner Minnie mouse trikes, the same double stroller for our dolls, danced together, ran threw the sprinklers, student council, our first jobs, pretty much shared the same backyard, been through breakups, shared a mailbox and the list goes on and on. I can't imagine life with out this girl. She is so amazing and talented. I just love her to pieces.

For her birthday we got a little pizzeria 7-12. For those of you living in Utah county. Go there NOW. It's heaven on earth. It never gets old. I'm not even joking!! The menu is always changing. It's so light and simple, yet intricate. Anyhow, I'm glad I got to see the birthday girl on her special day. I don't think there has been a year where I haven't seen her on her birthday!

in my book birthdays just aren't one day. i like to celebrate 
all week long 

i mean i may be getting one year older and wiser but why not celebrate life for a week! :)


besides my normal day to day things

my week went a little something like this:

wednesday:

chel took me to din din at our fave, chilis.

we love our waiters. and they love us.
 our chips and avocado ranch with salsa. 

yummmmy.
ps don't her eye lashes look amazing? ya all natural. she put on this stuff that helps your lashes grow. i think it i need to get some for my little stubs ha. 

thursday:

 miss allie took me to dinner and we went shoe shopping! we went to texas roadhouse and i refused to ride the bull. done it once and that was enough embarrassment to last a while.{hehe} allie gave me the cutest nail polish! that i'm pretty much obsessed with. always a great time will allie. she's the coolest!

friday: 

my sis bex took me to lunch at pizzaria. so fresh. love love love. and i love our sister time. she is the best and so fun to be around. i love that were the closest in age and that she lives so close. 

 that night i went real camping with sam and brades. by real i mean we ended up in some random spot in the middle of no where in spanish fork canyon. bush whacked. built a fire pit.  and set up camp. it was awesome. we made tin foil dinners and roasted mellows. something about camping always brings out the most random conversations and stories. needless to say there were a lot of inside jokes. thanks for making my weekend complete with camping brades and sam!!!

saturday:

 i treated myself to a massage. it was delightful. i wish i were rich enough to get one every week. i mean come on, doesn't everyone agree? we should all have a massage every once in a while! sammers took me to lunch & then we got our fave shaved ice. and somehow ended up at target :) funny how that one happens.. later on i had dinner with the rents, visited my grams in the hospital{thank goodness for prayers and miracles. she is a trooper and is doing amazing!! i love her!} and went grocery shopping with the madre.

sunday: the legit real deal of a birth date

 on my actual birthday i got to teach RS in church i love teaching and the things i learn. i taught on family responsibilities. every time i teach i learn so much and like using different teaching methods to teach. i am so thankful for my calling!

my nephew wouldn't pull a straight face.. ha! but i cannot believe how big he is!!! he's taller than my mom and before i know it he is going to pass me up! 

after church some of my family came over and had cheesecake and homemade ice cream. i love that ever since i was little my parents have made a big deal out of birthdays! mom always makes homemade ice cream. my sister and her kids were in town so it was fun to see them! i cannot believe how big they are getting {it makes me feel old!} then one of my best friends emilee and her husband jeff came to sing to me. they have the cutest birthday song and i should have recorded it! {maybe next year??} then caitlyn stopped by to visit.
 it was a wonderful birthday and i am so lucky. 

monday:

 when i got to work on monday afternoon this is what i saw :)

my work girls were so sweet to decorate my desk and amb got me the CUTEST balloons EVER. and a ring i love. 
later in the week katie jaye  gave me my favorite hot tamales and a darling scarf  :)

i had a wonderful week needless to say. all thanks to my family and friends. you guys are the best. and just so wonderful!!!


 i cannot wait to see what this year brings. 

reflecting on my 22nd year.
 i have learned a few things, including: 
to go after my dreams no matter what, to let love in, to look for the good in every experience: good or bad, that i just don't like something-i love it, to let go, to be the friend i want to have, to rely on my Savior, that i love to teach, that certain people are in my life for a reason, that i love writing, i have to make lists, i have the best of friends, i'm obsessed with changing my hair color, i learned to be vulnerable, and to just be ME. 


i could go on and on. but 22 was a great year,
now here's to 23!

thanks for always being there and being a wonderful friend. we clicked from the moment we starting talking. can't believe it's already been almost five years!
