As much as I love fall time I am super sad to see this summer come to a close. It obviously has been a busy summer considering I haven't blogged since the last time I did the How We Wore It collaboration, Yikes! (insert monkey covering his eyes emoji here). So huge shout out to Brooke for hosting and keeping me on my A game. I have so many fun summer adventures to share including an amazing trip abroad! I was so excited that this months HWWI inspiration came from Julia at Gal Meets Glam. I have followed her for years & love her classy style. I had nothing close in my closet to what she had but her soft dressy summer outfit made me want something light. I love this dress from H&M because you can dress it up for date night, wear it running errands, or a girls night out! I like that Julia's outfit looks comfy yet dressed up. That is what inspired me to wear this black dress. The slits on both sides give it a little sexy edge & anyone who knows me knows I love to pair a hat with just about any outfit.

I recently purchased my skirt from The Gap. It has literally been one of the best purchases I've made in a long time! It's been perfect for the office, church, Saturday brunch (it even has an elastic waste ;)) & I am excited to bring it on vacations with me this summer. Who doesn't love a good midi skirt? It's super comfy & it has pockets. Also, don't mind the lovely mesquite bite on my leg. That's just one of my few battle bites from doing photo sessions down by the lake.  I love this outfit because it's simple, clean, & breezy. I always get super hot & so I love the lightweight chambray fabric.

i did it!

i did it.

during the month of  march the sis and i made up a march madness challenge. we created 31 themed days which we would create our outfits from. it was fun to see what we both came up with obviously having different wardrobes, but just to see how different our ideas were of each days theme!

am i glad to be done? yes.

did it stretch my creativity? yes.

was it fun? yes
did i put pieces together that i had never worn together before and normally wouldn't? every. single. day.

did i ever have to think about what to wear? yes, but it was nice to have a plan.

would i do it again with different themes? perhaps in a few months!

but yee-haw.. now i'm all done!

can't believe we're on the down slope of this month. each month goes by faster and faster! well it's back to school today folks. it's been nice not to have to worry about school and just focus on other things this past week! it's getting harder and harder to pick out clothes for my 'themed' days. about two weeks before i started doing my 'march madness' i had started to do 'no repeats'. aka= no wearing the same shirt twice, until i went through all of my shirts. jeans were the exception. its literally been a challenge because at least for me i have my same few shirts/cardigans that i love to wear and probably wear more often then i should :) but i am almost half way through my closet! soooo we will see how the rest of the month goes!

hola! another week! it flew by, that is for sure. since i didn't go anywhere for spring break i made sure to get together with friends and go out. it was a blast. i will post pictures later on. it's been nice not to have to worry about tests, studying or going to class but just to work and then go play each night. i am excited for the weekend i have a friends birthday party, possibly going up to salt lake, teaching on sunday, catching up on editing, {hopefully blogging} and just having a low key weekend!

oh heyyyy!

i have a million things i could blog about, but i have been super duper lazy. oh well. i'll get around to it this week sometime, promise! life is good. it's technically 'spring break' but i don't really get a spring break. unless you count working the whole week a break from school? i guess i'll take what i can get! does anyone have any fun spring or summer vacations they are looking forward to??

its the weekend. hooray! thank the heavens.

this week has just been one of those 'off weeks'.

but i made it through a week of outfits. hello success!

i am excited to do whatever this weekend, get my taxes done, clean, 

take engagements, & just rejuvenate.

well it is going well! it has been fun to have a 'theme' each day and try to expand my own wardrobe by wearing things i may not normally put together. it has helped me to be more creative! although these days have been pretty easy- it should get interesting once i hit days like 'marilyn monroe', 'hunger games', & 'top gun'. i love having a purpose for each outfit.

let's talk clothes.

okay, so the other week i went on a date last minute {we were supposed to go out the following day} and so i frantically ran home from the gym showered and had NO clue what to wear. which brings me to this question? how do you get dressed for a date? do you always have that go-to outfit? or do you try on every item in your closet until you find that perfect outfit?  do you go straight to your black section because that's what's slimming? or do you pick something you have already worn that week that was a cute outfit? 

being me, i usually have a few go-to outfits or i typically have an outfit planned out all week for the date but  but since i was a slacker that week my go-to pieces were in the laundry basket. hence why i had a freak out. ha!  i used to be that girl if i had a date coming up i would typically head to the mall to find a cute new shirt. but since i am trying to save some mu-la and it was so last minute- i shopped out of my closet. 

since that night i have been thinking how does everyone else decide what to wear for an outing or date when it's last minute? oh, and in case you wanted to know what i ended up wearing it was skinny jeans, simple brown knit tee, brown 3/4 cardi, scarf, and knee high flat boots!

so friends, how do you decide upon your outfit???

this girl is need of some new glasses. i have other {smaller} plastic frames but since my lovely eyes have gotten worse over the past few years it's time for new ones with my new prescription! i have been wanting cute nerdy glasses and been searching around. I heard about Warby Parker from a number of blogs and thought I'd try out there "home try-ons". Coolest deal on the block if you ask me. they send you out 5 pairs to try on and then you get to be cool for 5 days and try them out! this is where you come in.. i can't decide which ones to get {i do have 2 favorites} but thought i would post the others to get your two sense..

working boots.

I was so excited to bust out my crazy purple tights, my old school denim jacket (ever since I saw footloose) and wear my new working boots ;) They were so comfortable!! I had a lovely lunch date with my sissy the other day and had her snap these of me. I love that we get together so often! Don't you just love sisters? I hate that my other two live so far away. I miss them so much. I am excited for this fall/winter season because I always get out the movie Little Women and watch it. My sisters and I always watched it when the weather would get colder growing up. Since there is four of us it made the movie extra fun. We would discuss who would be Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy March. Jo was always my favorite but since I was the youngest they said I was Amy. Since I was in love with Laurie aka Christian Bale I was perfectly okay with it!!  Do you live close to your sisters? And get to do lunch dates? Or have any fun traditions?
