do you ever have those weeks that you can't sleep?
okay, so i usually don't.
but lately aka the past two weeks i can't.
like i'm talking i lay in bed until 6 am.
my mind won't stop racing.
i don't know what my problem is.
i'm in bed before midnight.
i try to wind down by always reading and writing in my journal.
then i just lay there with the light off.
and watch the hours go by.
i don' know if it's the change of my new work schedule & a combinations of stress. or just what.
anyone have any suggestions or advice for this? I would really like to get back to a normal schedule and feel good. and get sleep so i can get up and accomplish things before i go to work. get back into my routine. and not feel so restless.
what suggestions or tips do you have for me?? if you do, they would be MUCH appreciated!
thanks bloggy friends!
i hope ya'll have a wonderful day.

i am so sorry ashley! i have struggled with this a lot in my life. have you ever tried melatonin? it's a natural sleep remedy that you can get at the grocery store usually in the vitamin section. it is non-habit forming and you just take 1 pill a little bit before you go to bed. melatonin is the chemical that your body produces that helps you fall asleep. (i think.. don't quote me on the exact job it does..haha) sometimes those chemicals get unbalanced because of several factors.. but changing your work schedule could definitely contribute that. melantonin helped me a lot. it doesn't help everyone.. but it's really cheap, it's safe, and it's worth a shot! you are just putting something back into your body that is already there! and it won't give you that nyquil hangover type feeling in the morning. hope that helps! hang in there girl! love ya!
In one psychology class I took my professor talked about the importance of not doing things besides sleeping in your bed. That way every time you get into bed your mind automatically says, "bedtime" instead of "tv time" or whatever. So be careful of doing your journal writing, reading, tv watching, etc. while actually in/on your bed. This has worked really well for me.
I will second Melatonin! It was the first thing I thought of. I also try to count backwards from 100 and make the shapes of the numbers in my head. Kind of stupid, but it works for me... usually.
I got melatonin tonight, so we will see how this works! i am excited :) thanks so much everyone for your comments!!!
